What is “Hardscape” and how is it different from “Landscape”?
Definition: Hardscape, or "hardscaping" consists of the inanimate elements of landscaping, especially any masonry work or woodwork. For instance, stone walls, concrete or brick patios, chimneys, tile paths, wooden decks and wooden arbors are all considered part of the hardscape. Anything used in landscaping that is not part of the “softscape” or living things is considered a hardscape element, including home accents such as water fountains and, yes, even pink flamingos!
What is “ Masonry “ ?
Definition: Masonry is construction achieved through the use of units of various natural or artificial mineral products, such as stone, brick, or concrete, glass block, etc.. The term, masonry can be applied to the craft itself or to the finished product. The craft of masonry began in Egypt in 4000 BC. Yet today it is a finely tuned skill, craft and art form. Masonry is a part of almost all structures and hardscapes you see. It is the occupation, the work, the craft, and the art. Being a Master Mason myself, I am extremely proud of this heritage, craft and art form and I reflect this in all of our projects.
How long have you been in business?
We are celebrating our 27th year in business as of 2012.
What types of insurance does your company carry?
We carry full worker’s compensation insurance as well as $2,000,000.00 in liability insurance.
What is your typical project size?
AM&C constructs projects of all sizes and costs in excess of $5000.00. Starting from small/medium size projects to complete landscape, hardscape, stonescape, home renovations, we do it all.
What is your project territory?
Our main territory is all of metro Atlanta north of I-20. For larger projects we do travel and have traveled even out of state. At times of high volume we reduce the extreme perimeter.
Does your work include a guarantee?
All of our projects include a (1) one year guarantee covering labor and materials.
What does “turnkey” mean?
When we say we offer turnkey projects, we are stating that we are willing to offer you a lump sum cost for the complete project. This means that we cover ALL costs ( labor, materials, insurances, equipment, cleanup ), and that there will not be any hidden costs (additional charges) at the end of the project.
Do you offer architectural renderings and drawings?
Yes, for all of your Hardscape, Landscape, and Home Renovation needs. We can provide you with custom designs in all these areas.
